Vanitas: An artwork which includes various symbolic objects designed to remind the viewer of their mortality and of the worthlessness of worldly goods and pleasures. I have always wanted to paint such a picture, and purchased a skull model for the purpose. My impending 70th birthday and the current pandemic have no doubt influenced my decision to get on with it.
