The centre of this unassuming town, which has had a vivid history. Once an important part of the German Chemical industry, a brown coal mine, a source of amber, lost villages, then an East German environmental disaster. Now it has been cleaned up and regenerated into a tourist attraction with lakes, woodland trails, camping, sports, sailing et al.
